Predictive Score for Pulmonary Ultrasound and Factors Associated to Mortality and Hospitalization during the Covid-19 Pandemic

Pulmonary ultrasound is a non-invasive bedside resource that has showed to be useful for the assessment of patients presenting with respiratory insufficiency as well diagnosis several pleural and other pulmonary pathologies. The score (LUS) semi quantitative scale measures loss aeration cause by many pathologic conditions. Our primary objective was describe factors associated death hospitalization in aged 16 or older were admitted emergency department (ED) signs symptoms COVID-19 infection through viral pneumonia (PU). It cohort retrospective study one-year period. Emergency physicians performed lung ultrasounds calculated LUS. Results: 672 suspected PU finding included. 495 had positive PCR test, 73.6% population. 258 presented high probability following patterns PU. 55% male median age 45 years old. average LUS at admission 8. Global rate 51.5%, 7.5% ICU. Patients > 10 mortality 6%, ICU 50% rate. They an 15.2. Conclusions: good predictor death, general ward from department.
